Ethics Scoreboard is torn. Usually this category is reserved for a situation requiring some commentary, some pithy observation to crystallize the ethical principles the Ethics Dunce in question seems to misunderstand. In the case of Audrey Seiler, however, her unethical conduct is so egregious that it almost seems like gilding the lily to place her here.
On the other hand, when a 20 year old student fakes her own kidnapping, sends a university and its student body into a panic, propels the cable news networks and tabloids into overdrive, terrifies one's parents and friends, costs local taxpayers $70,000 and wastes the time of an entire police force for days…well, if that doesn't make you an Ethics Dunce of the Month, if not of the Year, the Century and maybe the Millennium, then the term has no meaning.
